What's up guys, so sorry that I didn't get any emails out last week. Life's been nuts. Little highlight reel to fill you out on the past couple of weeks
-Super rainy and awesome in Durango, we had loads of sweet lessons and found a load of people to teach
-Didn't matter tho cause me and Elder Cruz got transferred out of the area! We both left Durango to go to Torreòn. We weren't excited about it lol, but we got over ourselves
-Set a baptism date for someone our last day there
-TORREÒN has been freaking awesome! Apart from being insanely sunny, hot, dusty and stinky, it's been a party. Our area is in the downtown part here so we have loads of awesome things to visit for p-day today.
-companion rocks, Elder Caballero is freaking hilarious
-We kinda opened the area because the sisters were here before and they left us with nothing.
-Pros of stealing the sisters area is that we get a sisters quality house. First house I've had with couches and air conditioning. We're living like kings out here
-I also got assigned to be district leader. Best part tho is that I'm in the smallest district in the mission, which equals less work haha
-exchanges with the assistants was baller
-did my first baptism interview
-the ward is amazing
-set our first baptism date here, but it already fell through lol
Easily my favorite part about being here in Torreon tho has been the members. These people here are so awesome and all wanna help out with the missionary work so bad. The faith I've seen has been incredible too. One member went blind when she was young, but after she went blind she started grinding and learned braille in a month and a half, just so that she could keep reading the Book of Mormon. After that she went on to be a seminary teacher for the ward and kept working. Just kinda crazy, if I went blind idk if I would be able to do the same thing.
Other crazy story involved brother Bill Nelson. We came out of a lesson one day and out of the blue a white dude in a truck pulled up and yelled at me to get in the car in English. For the next 30 minutes, him and his wife drove us around from contact to contact while he talked to me in his sweet sweet Logan, Utah grandpa English. He was just barely made branch president in one of the branches close by and apparently he's the reason why the membership is blowing up over there. Best part about all of it is that he speaks about as much Spanish as I did when I left the Mtc, and he's still working miracles. Just a huge help to my testimony that really all we need to do is talk and be representatives of Jesus, and if we do that the spirit will do the rest.
But ya, things are going freaking good out here. We've just been grinding so I don't really have too many stories. Spanish has improved a ton and I'm loving the mish! The church is mega true, and go read Jacob 2, awesome book. Peaceeee
