Cooper Winegar: April 2023

Holaaaa what's up friends, this week was awesome!! Some highlights were:

-on a bus ride home later at night, a man in a Deadpool costume got on the bus. It was super funny until he started approaching us and sat down two rows away from us in this almost abandoned bus. We later saw him with a weapon. Then he stood up and started to speak in front of us and the other few people that were on the bus. We were sure he was going to assault us, but turns out he was just asking people for money to help pay for his grandma's diapers. Thanks Deadpool <3

-went to a place called San Pedro which is a cool little ranchito. Its also super hot there which was fun stuff lol.

-didnt have tooons of success but the people we have are progressing sweet.

-awesome ward activity happened. We got to plan all of it. It was supposed to start at 7, but the counselor with the computer didn't show up until 8. We were freaking out especially because came super late but it ended up good with 90 people coming to it. Forgot to take pics tho dang-it

- talked to a crazy dude who wanted us to answer "what's day are we living in today spiritually biblically..." we were very confused and still are.

The church is incredible and true. Jesus Christ is our savior and is amazing. The mission is changing me so much. Don't be afraid of change, let Christ help you progress through change. Love you guys bye!!

Hey what's up guys, sorry but this is probably gonna be a short one, just wanted to share some miracles from this last week.

After 7 weeks of lots and lots of serving the zone and not having lots of success in our area, we finely had a killer week and found 8 people!!

One family we met went very smoothly, we've been trying to start teaching them for about a month now but we could never get our times to match up. But last week we did a surprise visit and planned that we would come back later to eat in their restaurant.

After the restaurant day we got to gain the confidence more and didn't ever talk much about the gospel.

But the day after our dinner with them, we stopped over and taught the restoration and the spirit was so so strong and at the end, jocelyn and alicia said they'd come to church with us, and the next day they came!!

They loved it and it was just awesome to break our streak of new people that wouldn't come to church with us. Very very cool.

Other miracle was when we were looking for someone named Gustavo, but quickly found out that his direction didn't exist. So we started knocking on his street asking for him, and on the second door someone let us in! Clara and sonía are super awesome and, even tho they don't have a clue who Gustavo is, were super excited to talk to us.

Craziest part is that 20 years ago they talked to the missionaries and were super interested but couldn't go because of work, so they stopped passing by. Now, 20 years later, we're back and helping them out.

The gospel is so cool and I love the Lord for helping us out.

Lots of times we can get super down. But I've noticed that if we keep an eternal perspective, Satan's grip on our lives becomes significantly smaller. When we trust in the Lord and his plan and focus in on what he wants us to do, he will bless us.

Love you guys so much, and also thanks so much to everyone that sent me birthday wishes last week!

Super Fast update from Elder Winegar's Mom as the day got away from him,

He celebrated his B-day at Pday activities in cake smash Mexican Tradition. He has such great friends in his Zone.

This week he enjoyed exchanges by bus, Zone Conference, and watching General Conference. An awesome Week! His ankle has healed quickly and is holding up if he wears an ankle brace.

Cooper loved the message from Hermana Zanudo at Zone Conference (his mission President's wife). She taught the missionaries they can disagree without division. Her message of love to the missionaries matched President Nelson's talk about being peacemakers.
